The atmosphere: The place has been redecorated. It looks more vibrant now, but still offers its patrons the same intimate feel of the previous Snoopy’s. Upstairs is used for dining whereas in the seating downstairs one can enjoy a bottle of wine along with some antipasti. Overall atmosphere feels very Italian !
The Service: The service was very good, regardless of the fact that only one person was attending to the four tables occupied that evening.
The Menu: is presented only in Italian and comprises of various antipasti, primi e secondi. There isn’t a very vast choice and this applies also to the wine list. Prices range from EUR 8-12 for antipasti and primi, and the secondi around EUR 15-25. Dessert is supplied from Dolce Peccati which is a few doors away from Il Cantiere, so it all depends what they have on the day. Wine prices vary from EUR 14-30.
Our Food: We shared some antipasti, which included bruschetta with olive paste, caponata, sundried tomatoes, olives, rice balls and two different cheese fritters, accompanied with sesame seeds grissini and bread…and an amazing parmiggiana. For main we all had pasta. Ravioli filled with parma ham, in a red sauce of salsiccia and ricotta and Tagliatelle vegitariane. I had the ravioli which were very tasty and needed no additional parmiggiano. Eh, and with the compliments of the chef we also tasted a leek and bacon risotto which was also, divine! For dessert we had cannolli and some other Sicilian pastry and coffee of course.
