Enchante – Senglea

I went to this restaurant purely by coincidence.    In reality there was once someone who had mentioned it to me, but

could not recall what this person/s had mentioned ….well now I know    The many times I have been, I have never ever

bothered to choose something else on the menu except for the Ta’ Salvu pizza.    The pizzas which are quiet large in size are cooked in pans and the dough is exceptionally good and of course so are the different toppings, especially for my favourite one which toppings are with a tomato base, bacon, baked potatoes, gbejna, onions, peas and mozzarella.   The restaurant has an outside dining area in summer, though it is usually quiet packed on weekends, and if you opt to order take-away be prepared to wait.   Although I have only had pizza in this restaurant,  I did get a glimpse of other succulent dishes being served to other diners.    Pasta seems to be a favourite as well as chicken, steaks and burgers.   Service is good, however food takes a bit long to be served, but it s worth the wait, and the price!

    was in the area yesterday evening and thought why not try this place out? since I had just read your blog in the afternoon ! walked in and ordered the Ta’ Salvu Pizza (As recommended by you) and will surely go there again and again and again when I’m in the area. We opted for ordering a take away pizza and in the mean time (a total of ten minutes as promised by the very friendly chef) we sat out side and drank a beer and just watched the view … we actually ended up eating the pizza outside as the weather was ideal. This is pizza lovers heaven, dough is amazingly good…seems not many people know how good the food is, however the few people I spoke to in the ten minutes I waited for my food, also mentioned the chicken salad which was ‘to die for’

    Been there several times in my opinion is the best pizza in the south !! Baked in a tin… of course even myself l always opt for ta ‘Salvu’ since it is different from other  pizzas. Its quite tradtional with potatoes, bacon, maltese gbejna  and herbs that’s why it  makes it so special.

    On weekends Enchante its packed so l suggest  you do a booking not to be let down , or else grab a takeaway and sit on the wall whilst enjoying  the view of the Vittoriosa Marina with the surroundings of the bastions.

    Worth trying + good very good value for money !

    I have been going to Enchante for about 20 years and it is always wonderful fresh food and good service
    And very pleasant atmosphere,and I recommend it to all my friends
