Tate Fusion – Vittoriosa Waterfront

Date of Last Visit: Saturday 21st November 2009

No of victims: writer and guest

The Damage: EUR 34 for two

The Set-up: This is one of the restaurants situated along the Vittoriosa Waterfront.  The place has a large outside seating area, which is equipped with heaters, as well as a couple of tables set on the inside, for those look for more intimate surroundings.  The modern décor has been carefully decorated to complement the old building.

The Service:  Service was good and I can say this for all the other times I was there.

The Food:  The food served here is vegetarian.   There is a substantial selection of different salads, platters,

wraps, sandwiches, pizzas, pastas and jacket potatoes on the menu.  I was not very hungry so I chose bruschetta which was served with different toppings such as sun-dried tomatoes paste, olive paste, chick-peas paste etc served with a green salad.   My guest opted for the grilled vegetables and cheese wrap which was accompanied with an appealing salad as well as fries. 10 on 10 for presentation and taste, and for the olive oil!!  We shared a 2009 Beaujoulais wine with our snack.

The atmosphere: Peaceful and tranquil surroundings.bruschetta

The Verdict: I have been a couple of times here and was always pleased with the service and food, though I think  the food is overpriced when you consider you are not having any meats.  By comparison, as I tend to like doing : -a couple of weeks ago, I paid EUR 40 for two plates of pasta (both with seafood) and wine, at Riviera della Marina which restaurant is situated  a couple of metres away.
