The atmosphere: Décor is a combination of contemporary chairs and tables with the warm touches of fuchsia, white and silver, whereas shelves display antique items, such as an old typewriter, old sewing machine, a collection of records etc. etc. The outside area is more appropriate for a drink, sharing a bottle of wine and some nibbles rather than to enjoy a full meal.

King prawns
The Location: Very easy to find…it’s on the Qawra seafront about 500 metres from Qawra Palace Hotel.
No of Victims: writer and guest
The Damage: EUR 68
The Service: The service was overall good.
The Menu: For starters, there is an assortment of mezes. The concept is that of having different starters to share. A
Stuffed Squid
feast for mushroom lovers.
We shared two starters – the spinach and feta slice (the Greeks call it spanakopita) which was not piping hot but tasty
and the cochifrito (an Andalucian dish of lamb cooked with lemon and garlic), plenty of amazing flavours, however lamb was not as tender.
In between the starters and mains, there is a selection of a home made soup, pasta and a rice dish.
Mains vary from fish, beef, pork, lamb…I chose for the grilled king prawns, which were not fresh, but just as tasty with
the accompanying dressing, however nothing special about them. My guest had the stuffed squid – this was amazingly
tender and tasty! Potatoes, bread and vegetables have to be ordered separately. Bread is prepared by the chef, and is served warm with a garlicy mayo sauce.
There is a charge for bread of EUR 1.50, which could have been removed in my opinion.
The Wine List: Not the biggest of selections. Wine prices range from average to high. We chose the South African Pinotage.
The Verdict: There is passion in what these guys are doing. This reflects in the taste and presentation of the food, the

service and in the ambience.
